At Edens Care, we strive to provide compassionate and professional domiciliary care services to our clients. Our team of experienced carers is dedicated to ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients, while also providing support and peace of mind to their families. Whether you need in-home care for a loved one, recovering after a hospital discharge, palliative care or respite care, needing help with daily activities, we are here to help.
Domiciliary care is when a carer visits your home to provide personal care and support. This might be a regular visit taking anywhere between fifteen minutes to several hours, or it could be longer sits, outings or a tailored package after a hospital treatment or visit.
A visiting carer helps you when you need more support in your own home. Sometimes you may need our assistance with getting up and going to bed, or help with washing and dressing. At other times, you may need support with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, household help, or going shopping.
A sit-in carer provides temporary care, typically for a few hours, to allow the primary caregiver a break or to provide companionship and supervision. Their duties often include:
Personal Care
Assisting with basic personal hygiene if needed (e.g., helping to use the bathroom).
Ensuring the individual is comfortable and their immediate needs are met.
Companionship
Engaging in conversation and providing emotional support.
Participating in activities or hobbies the individual enjoys.
Offering company to reduce feelings of loneliness.
Supervision and Safety
Ensuring the individual remains safe while the primary caregiver is away.
Monitoring mobility to prevent falls or injuries.
Assisting with basic mobility around the home.
Light Household Support
Preparing light snacks or drinks.
Tidying up immediate areas, if required.
Medication Support
Assisting with medication reminders or administration, if appropriate.
Reporting
Informing the primary caregiver of any significant events, changes, or concerns that occurred during the sitting period
Sit-in carers primarily provide short-term care, focusing on the well-being and safety of the individual while offering peace of mind to the primary caregiver.
